Silya Para sa Eskuela

By Rene

The "Silya Para sa Eskuela"  project was a huge success.  We got a very good response for this project.  Arm chairs are now being ordered and will be delivered the soonest possible time.

After consultation with the individual representatives of the batches involved, we agreed that all extra donations will be spent to repair the comfort rooms ( which includes water pumps and tanks) and classrooms.  Fund raising will continue to support various projects that are badly needed for this year.

Congratulations to CNHS 1976 for a job well done…… Saludo kami sa inyo.  Keep up the good work !

Please contact your respective USA Chapter Officers for information on how and where to mail your donation OR you can also make your check payable to  CNHS Class of 1975 and mail it to

  1. An Email From Manuel Hebreo to Cristi Loyola-Sanabria 7/31/06 6:54 PM

The recent “CNHS Barigada 2006″, a self help project to improve conditions at CNHS where the students, parents, civic organization and local goverment were involved). This drive accomplished quite a bit of projects and one of them is the repair of existing broken chairs. There were lots of broken chairs that were repaired (more like saved) from the pile of broken ones. The group that repaired the chairs were the Chevaliers, a local fraternity were many noted individual are members. The Chevaliers provided the labor and tools for the repair and I think the materials were donated by some other group.

In addition, plenty of used chairs were donated by some other school from Manila. I believe it was the Science department who took the lions share of those donated used chairs. The existing chairs were distributed to some other rooms and the broken ones were added to the pile that had to be repaired.

CNHS principal, Dr Victoria Galang Ed.D., mentioned that she will appeal to all alumni to help their alma mater. Student chairs and teacher tables will be an excellent project, just like providing flushing water to the rest rooms. Our renovation project is on temporary hold because it is rainy season now. We are trying to patch up leaking rooms, but there are so many, and the students seem to adopt by moving to a dry area of the room.

Its a pity that the principal of such great school like CNHS have to ask for donations for CNHS improvement. Pero, talagang walang magagawa kasi wala talaga halos budget sa room repair at maintennance of the facilities. I guess I was just so used to the system back there in the states that the unified school district don’t even have to ask because it is always alloted in the system.

Dito nga, halos it takes an act of congress to solicit 100.00 pesos from every student at the start of the school year. The School Governing Council (SGC) where I am a representative, had tried that to no avail. The amount that the school is trying to collect will go along way to other projects. Every year, CNHS is sending students to compete in various academic competition. Therefore every year, the school, CNHS representative including the contestant have to desperately solicit transportation and allowance to participate in those competition.

I hope we can come up with a better solution to help our school and our kids here at CNHS. In the mean time, we will do what we can to make life a little bit easier for these kids.

I will try to send you what I have regarding our renovation projects We have actually done more than the available funds pero don’t worry muna. As long as Ompong Ordoez is there, hindi ako nagaalala.

Please mention to Gentry and his contact to feel free to contact me by e-mail or by phone (046) 431-4529 here in Cavite City, if they need any help or have any questions.

    Take care….

  2. Fellow CNHS Alumni,

Salamat sa inyong lahat sa Class 1975 for giving us a chance to a joint venture fund raising for our Alma Mater. Without boundaries we can accomplish more, ang importante ay ang beneficiary ay ang ating school at ang mga estudiyante.

Our sincere thanks to Rene, Amer, Fravinia, Ernie, Vinia and Susan Raquel na para ko nang mga kuya at ate. I hope this is just a start and looking forward to seeing you all at the finish line, a fully renovated Cavite National High School.
